Carrollton, Texas-based Daikin Industries Ltd., has donated several heating and air conditioning systems to service the first floor and learning center of the newly renovated ASHRAE Headquarters in Atlanta. Daikin also provided the funding for the first reception area, known as the Daikin Reception Area and a vegetative roof garden, which will be named the Daikin Sustainability Garden.


EMCOR Group Inc., a Norwalk, Conn.-based mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services firm, announced its University Marelich Mechanical subsidiary has been awarded a contract to upgrade and convert a number of mechanical systems relating to indoor environmental comfort at the California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, Calif. The subsidiary will be responsible for installing the HVAC and plumbing systems in a new 1,265-ton central plant, which will convert purchased steam into chilled and heated water that will be distributed into a campus-wide loop.

Merrick & Co., an engineering, architecture, surveying, and geospatial solutions firm, has opened a new office in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The firm’s ongoing projects include work at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Y-12 Nuclear Security Complex

Dallas-based building automation firm TAC has acquired Control Innovations Inc., a TAC dealer also based in Dallas.

WB Engineers | Consultants—an international mechanical/electrical/plumbing, fire protection and technology engineering, and consulting firm—is moving its New Jersey offices to a larger space in Ramsey, N.J.

New York City-based structural engineering and design firm Thornton Tomasetti has opened two new offices in the United Arab Emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, to accommodate the firm’s expanding business development and extensive involvement in more than a dozen current, high-profile projects in the Middle East.

U.K.-based Fire Fighting Enterprises has opened a new distribution center in Erlanger, Ky. The new facility is designed to speed U.S. order turnaround for company’s optical beam smoke detectors.
